    What Will Be Your Response?

Now Moses was tending the flock of Jethro his father-in-law, the priest of Midian, and he led the flock to the far side of the wilderness and came to Horeb, the mountain of God. (Exodus 3:1) The words “far side of the wilderness” caught my attention and has stayed with me since we started our Small Group Bible Study on the Road to Freedom. Moses, at 80 years of age, may have felt that it was too late for him and that he was too far from God but God knew where to find him even on the far side of the wilderness. Do you feel far from God? Do…

Since I am in Christ, by the grace of God… I have been justified – completely forgiven and made righteous (Rom. 5:1) I died with Christ and died to the power of sin’s rule over my life (Rom. 6:1-6) I am free forever from condemnation (Rom. 8:1) I have been placed into Christ by God’s doing (1 Cor. 1:30) I have received the Spirit of God into my life that I might know the things freely given to me by God (1 Cor. 2:12) I have been given the mind of Christ (1 Cor. 2:16) I have been bought with a price; I am not my own; I belong to…

Twenty Cans of Success ( by Neil T. Anderson ” Victory over the Darkness”)

1.Why should I say I can’t when the Bible says I can do all things through Christ who give me strength (Phil. 4:13)? 2.Why should I lack when I know that God shall supply all my needs according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus (Phil. 4:19)? 3.Why should I fear when the Bible says God has not given me a spirit of fear, but of power, love and a sound mind (2 Tim. 1:7)? 4.Why should I lack faith to fulfill my calling knowing that God has allotted to me a measure of faith (Rom. 12:3)? 5.Why should I be weak when the Bible says that the Lord…

    The Lesson of the Spider

Every evening I sweep cobwebs off my balcony. Every morning the spiders are back with new webs and freshly caught flies. I saw the cobwebs as a nuisance. They were something that needed to be swept away. But today I saw something different. I saw perseverance and determination. My mindset had changed. Perseverance means doing something despite difficulty or delay in achieving success. Determination means firmness of purpose; resoluteness. Mindset is the established set of attitudes held by someone. What does the Bible have to say about perseverance? Here are just a couple of verses. James 5:11 “As you know, we count as blessed those who have persevered. You have…

    Be Contagious

Wash your hands. Wear a mask. Stay 2 meters apart. Stay home. These are just a few of the recommendations that you are advised to do to stop the spread of Covid-19. One definition of the word contagious is to spread a disease from one person or organism to another by direct or indirect contact. Another definition of the word is to spread to others an emotion, feeling, or attitude that will affect them. So how can you be contagious in a good way? Here are some of God’s recommendations: Love 1 John 4:7 “Dear friends, let us love one another, for love comes from God. Everyone who loves has…

    You can trust Me.

There are many verses in the Bible about trusting God. But let’s be honest with ourselves I think we all have trouble trusting God in at least one area of our life. What are some of God’s promises to you when you place your trust in Him? God will bless you. Psalm 1:1-2 Blessed is the one who does not walk in step with the wicked or stand in the way that sinners take or sit in the company of mockers, but whose delight is in the law of the Lord, and who meditates on his law day and night. God will give you wisdom. Proverbs 3:5-6 Trust in the…

    Even in a Drought

Jeremiah 17:5-8 This is what the Lord says: “Cursed is the one who trusts in man, who draws strength from mere flesh and whose heart turns away from the Lord. That person will be like a bush in the wastelands; they will not see prosperity when it comes. They will dwell in the parched places of the desert, in a salt land where no one lives. “But blessed is the one who trusts in the Lord, whose confidence is in him. They will be like a tree planted by the water that sends out its roots by the stream. It does not fear when heat comes; its leaves are always…

    “God is Good”?

God is Good? Christians have a saying they like to quote: God is good. All the time God is good. But do you believe it? No matter what you have been through in the past. No matter what you are going through now. No matter what you will be going through in the future. Maybe your belief in God’s goodness is being tested as you listen to the news in recent days. But the Bible declares His goodness towards us. “The LORD is good, A stronghold in the day of trouble, And He knows those who take refuge in Him.” (Nahum 1:7) “How great is Your goodness, Which You have…

Are You looking for a Relationship?

Let’s begin by looking at a relationship that is so intertwined with each other that you can’t have one without the other. You can’t have God the Father without the Son. You can’t have the Son without God the Father. We see this in Jesus as a twelve year old boy when his parents finally found him in the temple after he was missing for three days. His response was “Didn’t you know I had to be in my father’s house?” (Luke 2: 41-52) We read this in the Gospels where the authors tell us that Jesus often went to a solitary place to pray. (Matthew 14:23, Mark 1:35, Mark…
